oh the boredom

Friday, June 27th, 2008

I’m sitting here at work on a Friday, so ready to go home.  We have summer hours on Friday, but I still have to wait till my boss leaves till I can jet out.  He did come in with his Vans on, so I know he’s leaving early.  I’ll be in Waltham this weekend for Courtney and Dave’s wedding, and I can’t wait to see all my friends.  I think me, Brett, Chrissii, Joe and Eryn are going to hang out on Sunday.

I love the weekends.  Especially in the summer.  I love eating breakfast out on my balcony, sipping some yummy iced coffee and enjoying the weather.  Call me crazy, but I love when it’s really hot, humid and sticky outside.  To me, the suffocating heat IS summer.

craziness

Last weekend was pretty crazy.  Brett and I went to Waltham for the weekend.  Friday night we met up with Danny and Rebal at The Great Scott in Allston.  I had never been there before, but it’s a pretty cool bar.  The only thing that wasn’t cool was the beer.  If you are serving beer, please make sure it’s freezing cold.  Keeping the glasses in a freezer helps too.

Saturday was spent doing laundry, making cupcakes and hanging out with the fam.  Saturday night was Courtney’s bachelorette party.  It was such an insane night.  We started out at Court’s house for some food and drinkies, then hopped on the party bus, picked up the entertainment and went into Boston.  We started out at Limelight, which was pretty lame, so we left shortly after we got there.  I didn’t even have time to finish my Sam Summer, but we did get up on stage for a Gwen Stefani song (it was horrible by the way).  From there we went to Tequila Rain, where we spent the rest of the night.  All pictures for public viewing are on my Facebook and MySpace pages.  The rest will never reach the public eye…

Sunday was Father’s Day and we met the Landry’s at Woodman’s for some traditional New England fare.  I had the haddock plate, while pretty much everyone else got the combo.  Fried clams, shrimp, scallops, fish, etc…  We ended the meal with some yummy ice cream.

Courtney’s wedding is next weekend so Brett and I are going to H&M tonight to find him something to wear.  Pleated pants just don’t cut it anymore in this day and age (thank god, pleats are the worst!).

Wow…

You know that you’re getting old when you’re talking to your friends on IM about recipes, how to cook certain things and houses.  Small things like that puts things into perspective in regards to where your life is heading.  It also makes you think of when you were younger, when those thoughts never crossed your mind.  Those thoughts result in a feeling of nostalgia because you remember the “good old days.”  I remember when my IM conversations consisted of gossip – who was dating who, who was having parties over the weekend, whose house i was sleeping over, what shows we were going to that weekend and the all important IM fights.  Now my friends and I talk about who’s engaged and who just got married.

I’m growing up and it’s really weird.
